What A Week

This has been some week.  The new bid starts on Saturday (tomorrow).  I will work in the office two days a week (at least).  I will fill in when someone is on vacation or takes some time off.  Otherwise, I get to drive.

This is what I will be driving until Betty returns.  (I know the scan is not real good, sorry for the quality.)  I am off on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.  I am in the office on Wednesday evening and Friday morning.  The other two days (that is Thursday and Saturday) I get to drive.

If/when Betty returns this is what I will be driving.  I still of Sunday and Monday off.  I will have two days in the Village, two days driving Tuscyan and one day on the Hermit Road.

All of this starts tomorrow morning.  So, tomorrow I get to wear my little tan shirt and drive my bus.  Back in the saddle!  I do enjoy driving.

On Sunday I think we are heading north (yes, we are skipping church) and going to the North Rim.  We are going to be gone until Tuesday.  It is time to get away.  I will take plenty of pictures and will post them here.

Lunch

After Allen moved us we took Allen to lunch at McDonald's.  I had the Big 'N Tasty.  It was pretty good.  Nothing like a burger after doing some work.  Of course the day was far from over.  We had to get re-set up.

The killer is that we saw 2 of our new drivers earlier this morning and one of them had a In-N-Out burger t-shirt on.  Man, that is where I wanted to go for lunch!

Moving Our Rig. . . Again!

When we moved to our new site a few weeks ago we wanted to go all the way to the back of our site with our rig.  But we were unable to because of the electric cord and the location of the electric box.  Last week we bought an extension cord (50 amp heavy duty cord).  We know that this would take care of the problem.

We talked to Allen.  He was the friend who towed us to our new site.  He lives around the corner from here so when he got through driving morning breaks he came over and moved us back.
This is Allen's truck.  It is a Dodge Ram 3500 with a Cummings 6.7  engine.  This baby purrs like a kitten.  AND I think it can tow just about anything.

Allen is a good friend and he has such a big heart.  We pray that we can be a good witness to Allen.

A Picnic Table

A few weeks ago we got hold of a precious commodity here at GC, a picnic table.  A lot of the wood on the table was in bad shape.
When we went into Flagstaff last weekend we picked up some lumber to rebuild the table.
Here is my favorite tool of choice to drill the holes in the boards.
This is the first of the drilled holes.  Only four more boards to go!
Here is the finished project.  The next day I continued the project and sanded the boards.  All that is left is staining the table.  Even though I have not done it yet I will do it soon.

The Chapel of the Holy Dove

Sunday afternoon on the way back from Flagstaff we stopped at the chapel of the Holy Dove.  It is on Highway 189.  The drive on this highway is one of my favorites and we always enjoy it.  The girls have stopped there before (without me!!!) so this was my big chance.
It is small, A-frame chapel.  It was originally built in the late 1950's in memory of someone's brother who had been killed in an accident.  After the accident this guy received the Lord and became a Christian.  This is the outside and the front door.
This is the front door from the inside.  I like the light streaming in through the cross.
With the front door to our backs this is the view from the inside.
This is the same window in the previous picture.  It is beautiful little chapel.  It is always cool to find little places like this along the highway.

Desert At Starbucks

Starbucks many times has become our favorite source for desert.
The girls like the Strawberries & Creme Frappuccino.  I had the Chocolate Chip Frappuccino.  It was good stuff.

Lunch At Buster's

I had Sunday off this week!  We headed down to church in Williams at the Calvary Chapel there.  Afterwards we headed to Flagstaff to run some errands and do some grocery shopping.

We went to lunch at a restaurant that we had heard about called Buster's.  I was sent in to "check it out."  I was extremely pleased with what I saw.  So, in we went.
I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger.  Man was it good!
Missy had the Prime Rib French Dip.  Hmmm.  I never got my bite of that.  I wonder why?

The Sign

Saturday evening while I was at work Missy made an address sign.  We put it up close to the street.  I thought it was pretty cool!
