The Washer

Now it is time for the washer. At this point we had been working on this project for a while and we were tired. We got the washer inside the house (with the help of our next door neighbor Andy. It is amazing how heavy a washer can be!). We attached the hoses, pushed him into place, and we have a washer!
The project was finished!

The Dryer

After installing the shelf it was time for the dryer.

I was expecting the washer to be the hardest to install between the two of them. The dryer itself was not the problem it was the vent hose.

We bought a flat vent hose the ended up not fitting because of the plumbing. The plumbing was in the way of the out take hole.

The we bought a different hose that would not bend narrow enough. Remember, we are talking rv here, not a house! Our second vent hose of the day came unravelled! We rushed down to Williams and bought a vinyl hose that worked.

Hours latter, the dryer was in!!!

Preparing For Installation

In "Betty" is a small closet for the washer and dryer. The plumbing was already there so all we had to do was get the washer and dryer and install them. Easy? Right!

The first thing we did was take the doors off the closet so we would have room to work.

This is the "hole" that they go in.
We built a shelf for the dryer to sit on above the washer.
Here is the finished shelf.

New Washer and Dry

The last time we headed down to Prescott one of the reasons was to pick up our new washer and dryer We had to order them from Loews. Because of the size (small) it was an item that is not usually carried in the store. So, we had to special order them.

A Visitor At The Visitor's Center

Yesterday at work as I was driving back into the Visitor's Center I had a visitor in the parking lot. There were actually two deer in the area but I was unable to get a shot of the other deer.

77s Sighting

This was the temperature the other day. Before I had a chance to say anything, Janie called a 77s sighting.

Dinner In Prescott

This was our destination for dinner. It was like a taste of home. Texas Roadhouse is a steakhouse that is partially owned by country music legend Willie Nelson..
As we were waiting for our food a "balloon man" came by and asked if we would like a balloon animal. Janie asked for a penguin. So, this guy created a penguin for her.

Dinner arrived. I ordered the Ft Worth Ribeye (12 oz.). (The mushrooms just added to a great meal!)
There was a section in the restaurant that was dedicated to Willie Nelson. I do not know if all TX Roadhouses have this but it was pretty cool!

Another Trip to Prescott

Two weekends ago we headed down to Prescott for a night of worship at the Calvary there. We had a great time. We left in Sunday morning instead of getting up early and pushing to get to the service on time. The night of worship didn't start till 6:30. It was a wonderful evening of worship and encouragement.

Williams AZ

Williams has a new sign. This is right across from t he new Taco Bell in Williams. A few weeks ago we were in town (on the way back from VBS in Prescott) and this sign was not there. But all of a sudden it is there! I was very impressed with the sign. It is just off of interstate 40 as you come into town. Really nice.

Glass Harp

This is Glass Harp's last studio album. It came out around 2004 when I was laid off from work and really could not afford to buy new music. I was looking around for it the other day when I found it in Amazon.com. It was their last copy! So, I quickly ordered it. It does not contain the magic of their early work, but it is still some good stuff. Phil really shows his maturity as a great guitar player and you just cannot go wrong with Dan and John as a rhythm section. If you stumble across a copy of this do not hesitate to pick it up.

New Music From Two Veterns

Earlier this year Randy Stonehill released Paradise Sky. This is the soundtrack to the controversial movie "Fallen Angel." This is a documentary on the life of Larry Norman. Stonehill went into the studio and redid a bunch of old songs that he had originally recorded with Norman as producer. There is one song on here that was not from the "Norman days" which is from the album Equator.
The songs have a modern feel to them and they sound great. It is good stuff!

Mystery HIghway is a total work of art. This is the collaboration of two old friends, Phil Keaggy and Randy Stonehill and the magic is there. There is a familiar feel to the whole project. This is classic rock at it's best! If you do not have a copy of this, do not hesitate, go buy a copy. It is available from Keaggy's website and also Stonehill's website. Are you still reading this? Why are you not ordering Mystery Highway? This is the best release this entire year so far, and possibly the entire year! So, you must go buy it and play it LOUD!

Mr. Gummy Bear - I Knew Him Well

I do not know what he did, but Mr. Gummy Bear has been scheduled for execution.
The knife has now been brought in for the beheading for this poor bear.
The execution is over. Mr Gummy Bear is in two.

*No living gummy bears were injured in this execution.

Wrapping Up VBS

VBS is over for another year. These are the two guys that headed VBS up this year.
This is Casey.
This is Collin.

These are two really great guys that we have learned to love a lot. We love you guys! See you next time when we make it down to Prescott for church.

First Day Of VBS

VBS started on Tuesday. When the kids arrived they had to go through the submarine to get to the main room for worship. My job was to main the entrance and greet the children as the arrived.
They arrived to a large room with worship already in progress.
Worship was very high energy and fun for the kids.
I was assigned to the 2nd and 3rd graders. We headed off to do crafts and get refreshments.
From there it was teaching time. I do not know the name of the guy that did the teaching. But the subject was being called by God to be fishers of men.
After that we headed out side for gametime! Man, was it hot! But we had fun!

Setting Up For VBS

On Monday we headed up to the church and volunteered to help set up for VBS. I was taken to the top of the stairs and with cardboard, blackened in a window. I was suppose to paint the window black, but there was no black paint. So instead I used grey paint.
Right behind me in the hallway were some guys building a submarine. The kids were to go through the submarine to get to the main classroom for worship and teaching.
The guys that built it did a great job!

Prescott Again

On the 4th of July we headed down to Prescott for the weekend. I had worked two or three mornings in a row and was exhausted. But on Sunday morning we got up and headed to church. We went to the Prescott Valley service at 11:15. It was nice a late. We got to sleep in and rest up. An announcement was made about VBS the following week and the need they had for volunteers. We decided that we could come back and work VBS (for part of it) the next week.
On Sunday July 5 we got up early and headed to Prescott Valley for church. We stayed a few extra days a worked in VBS. It was fun!

Birthday Time!

Janie turned 12 years old this summer. I cannot believe it. This makes me, hmmm, to old! We decided to get her an ice cream cake from Baskin-Robbins this year. It was really tasty.

What's New?

This has been a busy summer and a lot of good things have been happening. A few weeks ago we headed down to Prescott and helped in VBS. It was a lot of fun. Last weekend we went back to Prescott and picked up a washer and dryer that we bought for the rig (the rig's name is Betty. Our fifth wheel is named in memory of my mother-in-law, Betty Jane Franklin).

I know that I am behind in sharing a lot of things with all of you, but today I am playing catch up. Plus, I have a lot of new music to share with you that I have recently received, some of it is outstanding! So, get ready for a bunch of posts!
